Naked Juice, owned by PepsiCo. has released a new campaign to promote their juice bottled in recycled bottles.
Anyone with a Facebook account can now become a fan of Naked and pass on a Naked bottle, with a message typed on the front. Naked has almst five thousand fans on their Facebook. Each Naked "message in a bottle" that is passed on on Facebook, Naked will donate 5 cents to Keep America Beautiful.
This is what we are seeing many companies do now. It's more a grass-roots promotion, where the company gets all sorts of advertising for free. People like the juice, they like shocking their friends by sending them a "naked" bottle, they like personalzing a bottle, and they send it. And why not? It's fun, they enjoy it, and they are donating to a good cause when they do.
Naked 's director of marketing, Amy Fitzgerald, has said Naked is happy with their online fans. “We have a very vibrant online community that was started by fans – not by the brand,” Fitzgerald said. “These people are passionate about Naked Juice and we want to get them motivated to talk about this new bottle.”
Naked is doing it right. Get people excited about your product, and then give them reason to share it with others.
