Cache Valley locals form chapter of global media club
Cache Valley locals create Social Media Club and invite all valley residents to attend
Logan, UT-Cache Valley locals have formed a local chapter of The Social Media Club, a global club formed to educate people about social media. The media club is meant to help Cache Valley residents learn what social media is and how to use it.
Preston Parker, president of SMCCV, says there is no other way to learn about social media other than attending the monthly meetings. “Our goal is to educate people seeking to learn about social media and how they can use it. We are creating a network of like-minded people."
The club meets the second Thursday of every month. Each meeting features a guest speaker, panel discussion, or booths setup by members. The meetings begin at 6:30 p.m. and the presentation at 7:00. Location of meetings varies; information regarding location can be found at https://www.smccv.net. Membership and meetings are free of charge and all ages are encouraged to attend.
The Social Media Club aims to educate people about social media, its benefits, uses, and effects. The Cache Valley chapter was formed in June 2009. Meetings are held the second Thursday of every month at 6:30 p.m. The Social Media Club went global as of September 2009, and Utah has chapters in Salt Lake City, Utah Valley, and Cache Valley. Headquarters are located in San Francisco.
