2300 Publicity

Is all publicity good publicity?
Tina Fey's performances on Saturday Night Live of Sarah Palin couldn't be stopped. Too bad for Sarah Palin. In this case, I don't think any media coverage was good coverage for her. Palin thought it was funny. It was funny, no doubt!

It definitely did get her more coverage, but I think it turned into blood-hound coverage. Because her off-the-wall answers were made so public and pronounced, those that saw Fey on SNL couldn't forget it. I for sure went straight to Google and typed in things such as "Sarah Palin stupid articles" or "Sarah Palin bad answer interviews" and found just that. Still publicity, but pretty negative publicity.

Sarah Palin kept a good a face about the whole thing, but I really wonder. Did she wince when she was asked questions about the performance? Did she wince as she watched fake reporters ask Fey real questions that she had responded to on the campaign? Exaggerated answers yes, but most had a base of truth to them. And I, not unlike many I'm sure, found the true root to all of the play-ups by Fey.

Had I been Palin or her advisor, I think I would have tried harder to show the media and the American people that we knew she had seen them. I'm not sure which way I woudl have gone from there though. She could have openly rebuked, or openly accepted and said it was funny. I never saw any of that.

But..Fey has an Emmy, Palin has something up her sleeve. I have a feeling that SNL is not done with Sarah Palin.
