2300-Queen of Social Media

Ellen DeGeneres has certainly used social media to her advantage. She has millions of Twitter followers, she is on Facebook, her website is super easy to load and use, and she uses almost daily on her show something that was sent to her via email, they found on YouTube, and lots of contests she holds online.

Her website has links very visible to her Facebook and Twitter. Her site also features a very organized way to see what she has been doing on her show, guests that have been on, and things she endorses. It's easy to read and understand her view on things just by spending a few minutes on her website. The videos don't take a lot of bandwidth and they all load quickly.

Almost every day Ellen will feature something she found on the web. She features videos from YouTube because loyal fans make videos just for her. They make up songs about her, they pretend to be her, they sing in the bathroom for her, or they send her really funny videos. Anyone that is a fan of Ellen DeGeneres could find her online to send her anything they wanted.

Another reason I think Ellen is so successful online is because it gives people all around the world a way to give, or do nice things for others. She does a lot of fundraising and is always looking for someone in a tragic or sad situation to help. Because she is so available online, it's easy for someone to send her an email or video of how she could help someone. She is very instrumental in increasing awareness and raising funds for breast cancer awareness.

Basically, Ellen has created this social media that is all about her, her show, helping people, finding a cure for cancer, laughter, love, and enjoying life. Cheesy as it sounds, but those that follow Ellen can attest. She has made a "brand" for herself. You can't think about her and not the rest of those things. She has done an extraordinary job of setting herself apart and making herself absolutely available.
