2300 Crisis Project

I have learned some very specific things while working with Stokes Nature Center. We were asked to help them create a campaign to help get funding and awareness out to the public. Through this project I have learned that to do well in a service-oriented franchise the public needs some basic things to be attracted to your service.
1.An efficient website is always the first thing to start with. If the public can get to your website from Google for any search engine, that eliminates a lot of communication problems. But more importantly than having a findable website, is making sure that the website’s crucial information is findable. I found Stokes had a good layout, but lacked some info.
2. Get the correct information into the correct target market’s hands. This is where we really wanted to help Stokes. We drafted some specific brochures as well as press released that announce specific events, tailored to the target market we were trying to reach. I think that always if the right people have your information, you will always have at least those people interested.

Those are just a couple of the things that I learned, but both are critical in a good PR campaign. I learned a lot from this assignment and really appreciate being able to work on a campaign that was practical and will add to my resume.
